New Signings for 2009/2010 - John Heitinga

John Heitinga joins Everton on a 5 year deal. He costs us 6 million pounds, which may rise to 7 million.

I must say he represent a good deal. Heitinga is a product of the famed Ajax academy and was in fact Pieneer's teammate for years before the latter moved to Germany. I am surprised that Heitinga was prepared to move from a Champions League team of Athletico Madrid to us, but I assume he sees something special about Everton.

With him, we can play him on the right and let Yobo and Distin play centre, or even let him play Centre with Yobo, with Neville playing on the right. Either way, Heitinga gives us quality options.

With Heitinga, Everton has purchased 4 major players:-

1. Jo (loan)

2. Bilyaletdinov

3. Distin

4. Heitinga

We also bought 2 Americans players on a 1 year deal, and a young German Defender.

Suddenly the seasons looks better..
