Against great adversity
The old Everton of the 90s would have folded. Playing in a strange land. Cold weather. Raining to add to that. And the small matter of 9 first team players out, with the stand-in Captain injured just before the game. That was a perfect recipe for an Evertonian defeat.
When Hibbert was played in Centre Back against BATE, I thought; 'That's it! We're gonna lose". But I must apologise to Hibbert as he was fantastic.
We won 2-1 with Cahill celebrating the 2nd goal in memory of the tsunami victims at Samoa. Fellaini equalised earlier after BATE gad scored in the 1st half.
We did not play well; but we played tough. We hung on won for the 5th consecutive game. Bravo.
Now for Stoke on Sunday at GP.
