4 In, 2 Out

The January Transfer Window came and went; but for the first time in 3 years, Everton was actually in active participation during the Transfer.

With the big game against Man City in the Background last night, Everton successfully out-defended Man City and defeated them 1-0 at Goodison. Once again, we remain victors against the blue half of Manchester when they come visit our fortress of Goodison Park.

Darron Gibson scored his first goal. Hibbo played in Centreback and Straqulaisi was actually playing for the 2nd consecutive game. All surreal but real.

But the drama off field was equally absorbing. Whilst Jelavic from Rangers was more or less predicted since the news of his transfer broke a few days ago; but Saha moving to Spurs and Piennar returning home to Goodison was tabloid news stuff.

Saha has served us well the last few seasons, but with respect, he has been terribly off form this season. Together with Billy, they both look out of sort and it was not a bad idea to ship them out. We thank them, and will remember their great goals for us.

Pienaar returning is like the homecoming of a Champion. It would have been perfect if Arteta would come back too; but I suppose we cant ask for everything.

Anyway, welcome back Pienaar.

This January, we brought in:-

1. Landon Donovan on loan,
2. Darron Gibson for about 2 million Pounds
3. Jelavic for about 6 million Pounds
4. Pienaar on loan till end of season

We let Billy and Saha go.

Now, lets climb the table and do well in the FA Cup.

Jelavic presented to Goodison Park last night

Pienaar in 2010 with Everton. He is back till the end of this season.
