The equaliser by Pienaar against Spurs on 9th December 2012, was Everton's 1000th Premier League Goal.

It was indeed a significant goal, as it brought parity to the match which Everton dominated and deserve to at least get a point. Eventually, that 1000th goal not only bought some sense of relief to our boys (who were a few minutes away from our first home defeat); but spurred the team to go for the winner which we did.
Jelavic (who else) scored the next goal, our 1001th Premier League Goal, and more importantly, the winning goal against Spurs.
