Malaysian Everton U-17
A group of ECSM have been diligently training young Malaysians every Saturday morning for free. The football training is held at Kelana Jaya at a field, we passionately call "Bellefield". (Perhaps we have to call it Finch Farm now)
Some coaches from Everton actually visited us last year and helped the ECSM coaches on the finer points of football training. The players (both boys and girls) are mostly Under -17 in age. The training sessions are done voluntarily by our team of coaches and they have spent much time with the players for the last 1 year or so.
The efforts bore fruit when on Tuesday (11-11-08), our Under-17 ECSM team beat the Indian U-17 team, 4-0 at the PKNC Ground at Petaling Jaya. The exciting game was watched by large group of interested spectators which included some Exco members of the Selangor state government. Nice of them to stop by.
Well done to the team and bravo to our coaching team.

Visiting side from India take on Everton Academy players
THE Everton Supporters Club Malaysia Kids’ Academy played a friendly match against a club side from Kerala, India, recently.
The match, between the Under-12 sides from both teams, was played at the PKNS Sports Complex in Kelana Jaya and Seri Setia assemblyman Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad was given the privilege of kicking off the match.
“It is not easy for me attend this event as I am a Liverpool supporter,” Nik Nazmi joked in his opening speech.
Nik Nazmi, clad in a Selangor football jersey, was impressed by the technical skills shown by the youngsters from the Everton Kids Academy.
He lauded the efforts put in by Everton through the twice weekly football clinic in Kelana Jaya to promote football at the grassroots.
“These programmes will go a long way in promoting stamina, techniques and good habits among children,” he said.
The event was jointly organised by the Everton Supporters Club Malaysia and Sports Planet.
