Blackburn 2 : Everton 3

This victory is a mirror reflection of the Opening game back in 2008, when Blackburn, then led by Paul Ince came to Goodison Park and scored a last minute goal to win 3-2. Everton recovered and eventually in May 2009, finished 5th and arrived at the FA Cup final only to lose to Chelsea.

We played very well in the first half, but somehow allowed Blackburn to come back twice. To be fair, I thought both Blackburn goals were good, particularly Jason Robert's goal.

But a penalties from Arteta, Yakubu's header, and of course Tim Cahill's last minute goal, sealed 3 points for us.

Can we claim a Europe spot? It will require assistance from other teams, and we must win our last 3 games. But come what may, this season has been decent. We should have finished higher, and it gives the fans hope for next season.
