Pain for Baines & Ani

It would have been nice to see another Everton player to board the plane to South Africa. But Anichebe's and Baines' exclusion from their respective national team would benefit Everton next season. 

Many had expected both Baines & Ani to be at South Africa. Baines in particular is so much better than Warnock who was his direct competitor for the reserve left back slot. 

Ani too, would be a powerful inclusion to an already strong looking Nigerian team, but his mysterious exclusion will leave more questions than asnwers. 

The biggest worry for Everton, would not be these 2 players' fitness as both would be relaxed when they returned. The biggest worry would be their confidence. To come so close to be part of World's biggest football tournament, and just falling short may hurt both mentally.

Hopefully they wont be too scarred. Rio Ferdinand was dropped for Euro 2000 and look at where he is now. 

The World Cup will be coming soon. Lets hope we have a good tournament.
