Flying the flag for Everton

DIE-HARD Everton fans Simon Foo (right) and his son Edward dropped by The Star’s newsroom at Menara Star recently to present the club’s flag to Star Publications (M) Bhd executive director/group chief editor Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai.

The duo, who were clad in the Toffees’ latest home kit, had heard that the club’s flag was not among the many displayed in the newsroom.

“I got my elder son, who lives in Liverpool, to mail the flag to my home in Jalan Klang Lama,’’ said Foo, who spent the earlier part of his life living and studying in Liverpool.

The father-and-son team travel frequently to Goodison Park — Everton’s homeground — to watch their idols in action.

“We plan to go and watch the Toffees’ again as they are enjoying a good run now,’’ he said after handing over the flag to Wong.
