Goodbye Billy

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov scored some spectacular goals for us. His final day goal against Portsmouth in 2010 was voted best goal that season by Evertonians.

But truth be told, he often lost the ball; and over the last 18 months or so, he looked like he has lost confidence.

Perhaps, the fact that he was not given the chance to play at his favoured 'behind the striker' role and instead played in the left wing, Billy never produced his best. However, to play in that 'role in the hole', one must be good at the ball and cannot always lose to ball as the team is vulnerable to counter attacks.

Nonetheless, we will always remember Billy. Our favourite Russian Evertonian!
