'There Will Be Other Heroes"

Biing made that phrase in our e-group, after news about Arteta’s injury was confirmed. And to me, that epitomize Everton’s supporters feeling at the moment. As we slowly get over the shock and despair of losing Arteta, we look for other players to lead our Club to glory.

And yes, more than ever Everton need new Heroes to appear and take the Club to another rung up. Everton is in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup, and still within touching distance from that elusive 4th place. We are not finished yet. We will hold on to hope, for it is hope, which kept us going all these years supporting the Club.

Who will be our new Hero?

Everton still have many good players. Leon Osman and Fellaine will be returning soon, probably this weekend against WBA. It would probably make sense to play 4-4-1-1 again, with Cahill playing right behind either Jo or Saha. We can call upon Pienaar who should be back, to man the wings. He can play on the left with Gosling returning to his preferred right side.

The 2 new young players of Rodwell and Gosling must now step up. Everton still have Jose Baxter, another top U-17 player who just a few days ago, captained and scored 2 goals for England U-17 when they played their Israel’s counterpart. The future is still bright.
But my gut feeling tells me Tim Cahill will be our new Hero. He has what it takes to take Everton to perhaps the FA Cup final. He has helped Everton many times, and so long as stays injury-free, he is my take to be our next Hero.
Arteta has taken us this far, we must now carry on the Club’s struggle to ensure his effort the last 5 months wont go down the drain. There will be new Heroes!

We have to force the Board to do whatever that is necessary to get Joao Moutinho on board. Him or another type who are creatively gifted - in other words a non-Englishman!
