Biggest Win of the Season

Last night's 4-0 win against Wigan was the biggest win of the season, thus far.

The opening game was a little scrappy as both teams was trying to gain control of the midfield. Our defence was solid, and once we establish a strong defence, our game started to take off. Hibbert back in defence definitely gives us a more potent back 4.

When we lost to Wigan earlier in the season, I was not satisfied at all, as we are clearly the better team compared to them, and yesterday we proved that. Osman and Fellaini were very good in attack but Cahill's return gave balance to our team. Cahill is no more a midfielder, but he is turning into our talisman, especially now that Arteta is out.

I particularly like the 1st goal. The passing was precise and Jo's shot was pin point to the corner, making it virtually impossible for Kirkland to stop it. It was clearly a great start.

From that moment on, I felt we would likely win the game, but I did not envisage a 4-0 win. In all fairness, Wigan was a little off-form. But we took our chances and did well.

Now we are only 1 point behind Villa. Can we avenge our EPL defeat? That loss was so painful as their goal came in the last minute, and we controlled virtually 90% of the game. We did beat them 3-1 in the FA Cup last month, but in the EPL, it's another game all together. We have not won at Villa Park for a while already, and I hope we can defy that record next weekend.

But more significantly, last night's victory more or less put us back in Europe next season. It would be better if we can get into the Champion's League, but getting into Europe is always special, whatever the tournament we are in.
